Habitat for Humanity International was founded in 1976,
Habitat Canada was founded in 1985, and the Prince Edward-Hastings
Habitat for Humanity affiliate was formed in 1994.
Our goal is the elimination of poverty housing and homelessness
throughout the world, making the provision of decent shelter a matter of
conscience and action
Habitat for Humanity invites volunteers to work together in
partnership with families in need providing “a hand up — not a hand
out”.
The Prince Edward-Hastings Habitat for Humanity affiliate has built
24 homes helping 26 families and is an independent, not for profit
housing program dedicated to the elimination of poverty housing by
building homes in partnership with families in need.
